Los Angeles.
So I arrived in LA on July 19 at around 10am, and found my way to my amazing hotel, The Standard Downtown. Stunning place!
Everyone said I wouldn’t like LA all that much, but let me tell you this: IT WAS AMAZING!
Everyone was so nice. I made friends with my cab drivers, when I bought my American phone, Neil; the guy that served me went above and beyond with helping me out.
I travelled down to The Grove, where I found amazing shopping. From Nordstrom, Ab&Fitch and even Mac. So, so good! I checked out the Apple store, where I met a guy who told me about the farmers markets at Yamashiro Farmers Market, which has a special night on Thursdays!
I found my way to the Farmers Market outside the Yamashiro Japanese restaurant which was so great. I bought a chicken slider meal for FOUR DOLLARS and it was HUGE! The food, the little stalls, the views were all amazing. It’s renowned for having the best views of LA and no doubt, it was wonderful!
I trekked back to my hotel, thanks to Ali, my cab driver. Dany, a friend I made in Cairns at the beginning of the year came to meet me. We ordered room service. We ordered drinks. We had a great time as the clocked ticked to midnight and by birthday began!
What a great way to transition into 21!
In the morning, I found my way to LAX to destination LAS. Delta Airlines almost made me miss my flight. They were not helpful at all, until they found out it was my 21st birthday. I was then upgraded to first class! Yeah buddy.
