Chicago
From all six cities that I visited, Chicago left the most lasting impression.
I arrived in Chicago on a Wednesday only to be greeted by the most wonderful Tyjuan Mathis. Checking out the Leaders1354 store first up, I met some fabulous people who made fun of my accent. Gotta love the Americans, right? The store was dope AS. Sneaks, clothes, watches, caps. I can truly say that repping this back In Oz has been a breeze. Love it.
I spent my afternoon shopping on Michigan Avenue before heading back to the hotel to catch up with Ty for some Froyo and a movie. It was a real nice and chill way to start my Chi-town visit.
The next day we ate brekky at the most delightful little restaurant. I had French toast, which was HUGE but delicious. Berries and syrup – the lot! I did the real tourist thing. I got on one of those red buses that drives around the city and watched Chicago go past, jumping on and off if I saw some cool attractions. I also went to the top of the John Handcock tower. DAMN. It was nice!
The thing about Chicago is that you not only have the huge American buildings (which I, of course, fell in love with), but you have the coastline and ‘burbs. It’s all so beautiful to look at from up high.
I also saw the view from the top of the Sears Tower, which is the highest building in the USA. Really defines the city.
On my final day in Chi-town Ty and I checked out Milwaukee street. We saw all these amazing sneaker stores and walked around shopping and chilling and eating Tacos! Who would have thought? That day I picked up my Jordan 3’s for $60 bux from the Nike Outlet! UNBELIEVABLE! We also ate pizza the size of a cheesecake. It was seriously cake thick but with peperoni and cheese and more cheese.
That night we partied. We went to the Fabolous concert and saw Rockie Fresh perform! We then headed to the BJ the Chicago Kid’s gig. BJ is so talented. Then to the Fabolous after-party. It was pretty epic.
There was no time to sleep because it was SF time baby!
